Maryland Family Network

Client Background

Maryland Family Network (MFN) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families by connecting parents, caregivers, and child care providers with critical resources and support. Their work benefits children across Maryland by ensuring families have access to quality child care, education, and community programs that help children thrive.

The Challenge

As MFN continued to grow, its brand, marketing, and communication systems struggled to keep pace. Their brand and website were often mistaken for being designed for children, rather than for the adults who support them. The overly childlike visuals diluted credibility and failed to reflect the scale and professionalism of their nonprofit impact.

Combined with underperforming direct mail campaigns, issues like inaccurate mailing lists, undeliverable pieces, and limited performance visibility made it difficult to scale fundraising and operate efficiently.

MFN needed a strategic partner who could modernize its brand, streamline execution, and deliver measurable results across every touchpoint.

The Process & Solution

Strategic Factory led a comprehensive brand refresh and rollout, managing strategy, creative, and production under one roof to ensure consistency and quality across every touchpoint.

1.) Rebrand

Strategic Factory refined MFN’s existing identity while preserving recognition and trust.

  • Updated logo mark, primary logo, and tagline
  • Refreshed the color palette using the same color family with new hex values that were more grounded, professional, and less childlike
  • Replaced the original concept with a more meaningful visual: a nest with a mother bird and baby bird, reinforcing MFN’s focus on families, care, and child development
